At the prestigious Design Effectiveness Awards in London this week, OPTAC set new standards by winning the top-level Gold Award in the category of Industrial Product Design, then going on to be the inaugural winners of the Materials Innovation Award, presented to the company showing the most effective and innovative choice of materials for their entry.
Then came the amazing news that we had also won the Grand Prix, the top prize, honouring the top overall company demonstrating how an effective design strategy has made a real difference to their business.
This is the first time that any product has ever won 3 DBA Awards. And to put this into context, we were up against companies such as Cable and Wireless, BT, BAA and T Mobile.
